MindPlay: FAQ

▶ Do I have to perform or be put on the spot?
Nope. MindPlay is invitation-based, not exposure-based. You choose your pace. You can ease in through observation, small paired moments, or active participation — all are valid.

▶ I freeze in social situations — what if that happens here?
Freezing is considered an important nervous system response — and it’s welcome data. MindPlay gently helps you notice what your body does under pressure, with warmth and play instead of performance anxiety. We move at the speed of safety, not spectacle.

▶ I have zero acting or improv experience — is that a problem?
Not a problem! If all you bring is curiosity and a slightly tired nervous system, you're exactly who this is for.

▶ Will this help with confidence or social anxiety?
Yes — but not in the “fake it till you make it” way. MindPlay teaches regulated confidence, where your body feels safe enough to show up without performing. True confidence comes from nervous system flexibility, not bravado.

▶ Do we talk about what happens in the games?
Yes — we end every session with a quick integration and reflection circle. This is where insight meets play, and the nervous system goes, “Oh… that’s what just happened.”

▶ Can I bring my group, team, or clinic?
Yes. Private MindPlay Labs can be tailored to sport teams, equestrian groups, therapy practices, wellness collectives, creative teams -just inquire!

▶ Do I have to be funny?
Not at all. This isn’t comedy improv. This is relational improv. The goal isn’t to entertain — it’s to breathe, respond, connect, and rediscover ease with uncertainty. Soft laughter is the nervous system’s sigh of relief — not a performance scorecard.

▶ Is this covered by insurance?
MindPlay sessions may be covered under Psychology individual or group services, depending on your plan.Team or clinic sessions may be eligible under Professional Development, Wellness, or Training budgets.
